Call for Artists: Alternating Currents Mural Fest Returns with $5,000 Artist Stipends and Five New Downtown Walls

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 6, 2025) — Alternating Currents (AC) and Quad City Arts are now accepting qualifications from artists and muralists for the 2025 Alternating Currents Mural Fest, a vibrant public-art initiative bringing large-scale murals to downtown Davenport, Bettendorf, and Rock Island this August. Five artists or artist teams will be selected to create murals on five separate walls, each receiving a $5,000 stipend for their work.

Red, White and Boom Fireworks Display Set to Return July 3

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 2, 2025) — The annual bi-state Red, White, and Boom! will be held on July 3, 2025. Family-friendly activities will take place that evening in downtown Davenport and Rock Island. At 9:30PM, fireworks will be shot, in sync to music broadcast on 97X, from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River.
