Join us for a Lord of the Rings movie marathon at the Davenport Library! Journey to Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) for the epic adventure. Show us your best Gollum impression and we’ll give you free popcorn!

The movie schedule is:

The Fellowship of the Ring on Wednesday, December 27 at 2pm

The Two Towers on Thursday, December 28 at 12:30pm

Join us for the first annual Winter Garden Light Display at the Quad City Botanical Center! The outdoor gardens will be in winter bloom this December with thousands of glowing lights during Winter Nights, Winter Lights. Bundle up, stroll the gardens at night then warm up inside at the hot chocolate bar.


Exhibit is open on the following nights from 4:30pm-8:30pm:

Dec 4-7, 10-13, 16-20, 22-24 and 26-30.


Cost: $8 adults, $4 youth, under 2 free

Join us for a day of tabletop games! You can bring your own game or use one of ours. We’ll be at Eastern on Saturday December 16 beginning at 10:00am. Hot cocoa and snacks will be provided!

Get out and enjoy the Great River Trail on December 10th then come into Duey’s Corner Tap for BRRunch. Our friends at Duey’s are donating brunch with the hope you’ll donate $10 toward Spring Forward Learning Center’s end of year giving campaign.

On Friday, December 8, 2017 the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency will host its first Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Day . This event will be consist of games, crafts, a signing Santa, balloon clown, American Sign Language (ASL) story time with voice interpretation, and sack lunch time together. In attendance will be deaf community members, Scott Community College ASL and English Interpretation program students and various others interested in attending.

Quad Cities Togolese Americans stand together to support families and friends back in Togo.

Moline, IL. – December 4, 2017 – TOGO UPRISINGQC, a group of Togolese Americans, mostly first-generation immigrants in the Quad Cities, will host a fundraising dinner on Saturday, December 9 th , 2017 at 5:30 pm at Believers Together Center of Christ the King Catholic Church – 3209 60 th Street – in Moline.

United Way of the Quad Cities Area will host the event, Rallying Around Mental Health with Linda Henderson-Smith from the National Council for Behavioral Health, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 Jumer’s Casino & Hotel. Doors open at 11:00 a.m.

Rivermont Collegiate will again open its doors to the public for a holiday open house at its campus in Bettendorf. Join us from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Drop in for light refreshments and tours of the mansion decorated for the holidays.

The Bettendorf Mansion is located at 1821 Sunset Drive, directly off 18th Street behind K&K Hardware in Bettendorf. This event is open to the public.
