PRINCETON, IOWA (September 15, 2022) — Princeton Recreation Trails is hosting their 9th annual 5K Walk and Run, “I’m running to support my community and raise money for the Mississippi River Trail,” says Tara Flesch, Race Director.

Princeton Recreation Trails Inc improves pathways to increase safe and healthy opportunities for all. “Our primary goal is to bring a separated Mississippi River Trail to Princeton,” explains Flesch. “The fundraiser will help accomplish this goal and the event is endorsed by the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative for taking charge in improving the health of Iowans.”

The Princeton 5K will take place on Saturday, October 8, 9AM. The course features 3.1 miles of out and back on City roads. The walk and run begins and ends near Go Fish Marina Bar and Grill in Princeton, Iowa. Water will be available on the course. Post-race refreshments will be provided following the race.

Runners, walkers, and trail lovers are encouraged to sign up on GetMeRegistered by searching Princeton 5K. The $30 registration fee includes a race shirt and post-race refreshments. The top male and female will receive a trophy. Medals awarded to the first, second, and third place individuals in each age group for both males and females.

Age Divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
