DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 16, 2025) — Representatives from the American Heart Association will be providing free CPR education on Tuesday, May 20, 3-5PM, at the Rock Island Hy-Vee (2930 18th Ave, Rock Island).

This event is open to anyone interested in learning the essential lifesaving skill that can double or triple a cardiac victim’s chance of survival. Compression-only CPR, known as Hands-Only CPR, can be equally as effective as traditional CPR for adults in the first few minutes of emergency response and is a skill everyone can learn. Registration is not required, and walk-ins are welcome. Training is open to youth at least 9 years old so long as a parent or guardian is present.

Additionally, Hy-Vee is participating in the American Heart Association’s fundraising campaign, Life Is Why™, where customers can give back while shopping by rounding up their in-store purchase at checkout in May to support the fight against cardiovascular disease.

Hy-Vee Inc is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 570 business units across nine Midwestern states with sales of more than $13 billion annually.
