DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 15, 2026) — On September 26, 2026, at approximately 9:12PM, the Davenport Police, Fire Department, and Medic personnel responded to a report of a six-month-old child who was not breathing in the 3500 block of Marquette Street.
Upon arrival, medical assistance was provided to the child, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment by Medics EMS.
As a result of the initial investigation, the child’s father, Bryan Wayne, 22 years old, was arrested for Child Endangerment causing serious injury on September 29, 2026.
On October 1, 2026, the six-month-old child died from his injuries.
On October 15, 2026, Wayne was charged with Murder in the First Degree, Child Endangerment resulting in Death, and Neglect of a Dependent Person.
This investigation remains ongoing; no further information is available at this time.
