Head downtown on Thursday, August 3rd from 11:00am to 1:00pm where folks will be dancin’ in the street! Don Estes and the Prairie Ramblers, with the help of Bos Sound, will be playing live jazz for the Davenport Public Library’s annual Bix Porch Party at Main (321 Main Street). Be sure to bring a lawn chair as we block off Main Street for some good old-fashioned fun!

While you are enjoying the live music, kids can enjoy activities including FREE face painting from Laura Anderson of Clown-A-Round. And if you get hungry, the Teen Volunteer Council will be providing hot dogs and lemonade (donations welcome!)

In addition, Brendan Wolfe, author of the new biography Finding Bix, will treat the public to a short reading and sign copies of his book at 1:00pm following the porch party in the air-conditioned Large Meeting Room.

This event is FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit www.davenportlibrary.com or call the library at (563) 326-7832
