DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 17, 2026) — As concerns grow across Eastern Iowa regarding the expansion of major AI data centers, Independent Congressional Candidate Michael Bridgford continues to meet directly with affected community members to examine the local economic, energy, and land-use impacts.

Most recently, Bridgford attended a community concert event in Clinton County organized by residents voicing concerns over proposed data-center developments. While Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Christina Bohannan have avoided taking a firm stance, Bridgford spent the afternoon speaking directly with residents to better understand their perspectives on water usage, utility costs, and other potential effects.

The contrast in candidate engagement has become increasingly clear across Iowa’s First Congressional District.

"Public Servants are accountable to their constituents. Elected leadership requires showing up, listening, and doing the hard work to understand complex issues before deciding what's best for our communities," said Bridgford. "While Washington politicians sit on the sidelines, I’m listening to the people on the ground."

Major Broadcast Media Launch

To reach voters across all twenty counties of the district, the Bridgford campaign is planning a major advertising buy representing a multi-six-figure investment across major media markets, including Quad Cities, Iowa City, and surrounding broadcast areas.

This initiative will spotlight Bridgford’s independent platform focused on accountability, practical solutions, and putting community interests ahead of political hyper-partisanship.

“Doing what’s right for Iowa is my only party line.” — Michael Bridgford, in new television ad broadcast across IA-01

The ad push will run through the election across network television, streaming platforms, and social media to ensure voters throughout Eastern Iowa know that they have an independent choice on November 3.
