On Friday at 8:15 AM in East Moline, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) will kick off her “Better Deal for our Workforce” tour with a first stop at United Township High School’s Career Center. At this event, Bustos will learn about their training programs in Manufacturing Technology and Design, Health Occupations as well as Welding and Automotive Repair.

As a strong advocate for building a skills pipeline that connects our high schools and community colleges with local employers, Bustos has played a key role in developing the Better Deal economic agenda – which includes doubling federal investments in apprenticeships and workforce training. Over the next week, Bustos will be visiting several technical and vocational skills programs to learn more about how they’re preparing the workforce of tomorrow for good paying jobs in our community.
