DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 2, 2026) — The City of Davenport filed a joint professional statement regarding notice of settlement concerning David Ezra Sidran’s pending lawsuit against the city, originally set for trial today, July 2, 2026.

Attorneys representing the City were informed electronically on the afternoon of July 1, 2026, that the matter was removed from the trial calendar, without the City’s consent and before any member of City Council or individually-named defendant had an opportunity to review the settlement offer.

The City and its legal counsel were present and fully prepared to try the case today as scheduled.

Any delay of this trial is the result of actions taken by Plaintiff and his counsel, and the response filed today memorialized those actions.

The case will be reset for trial.
