The City of Davenport will be conducting the 11th annual urban deer hunt beginning on Saturday, September 16th, continuing through Wednesday, January 10th. Areas eligible for the urban deer hunt include any city or private property within the city limits which are of three (3) acres or larger. Landowner permission is required to hunt on private property. The only legal deer license recognized for the urban deer hunt will be the special deer management zone permit.

Archery is the only allowable means to harvest deer during the urban deer hunt. Participants must have a valid Iowa hunter’s safety card, Iowa DNR customer number, and complete the proficiency process prior to eligibility for licensing. The hunt will be coordinated by Adam Cooper, Parks Supervisor. Special regulations apply to this hunt and copies of those regulations as well as additional information can be obtained by visiting the River’s Edge at 700 W River Dr. Davenport, Iowa. For more information regarding this program contact Adam Cooper, email acooper@ci.davenport.ia.us, phone 563 888 2093.
