CLIVE, Iowa – A Davenport woman won five prizes totaling $21,250 this week, all in one drawing of the Iowa Lottery’s Pick 4 game.

Frances Thibodeaux won all of her prizes in Sunday’s Pick 4 evening drawing. She won four prizes totaling $21,000 by matching all four of the numbers drawn in the exact order: 1-0-2-1; this is known as a straight play. She also won an additional $250 by matching the winning numbers, but not in the exact order drawn; this is known as a box play.

Thibodeaux bought her winning ticket at Kwik Shop, 1670 W. Kimberly Road in Davenport, and claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

Pick 4, which has been offered in Iowa since September 2003, features a top prize of $30,000, with odds of just 1:10,000 of winning it. Another intriguing aspect of the game comes in the variety of ways players can choose to play it. Plays in Pick 4 range from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a four-digit combination of numbers from 0000 to 9999.
