DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 19, 2025) — We are thrilled to announce the distribution of $800,000 in grants to 58 exceptional non-profit organizations throughout the Quad Cities. These grants aim to support high-quality, impactful programs that truly make a positive difference in our community, especially in Rock Island.
This year has been particularly remarkable for us, as we received an unprecedented 96 applications, totaling $1.4 million in requests, which truly underscored the significant need within our community and the competitive spirit of our grant process. The grants awarded span several key areas: Human Services, Arts, Culture and Community Resources, Youth and Education, Health — with a special focus on behavioral health — and support for seniors.
These contributions reflect our foundation's deep-rooted commitment, which began with a generous $10 million gift from the Doris Day Estate in 1987. This generous gift was intended to help make the Quad Cities an even better place and continues to empower a diverse array of programs that serve our community's needs.
It's gratifying to share these funds during a time that has been especially challenging for many non-profits. We genuinely hope this funding serves as a vital boost for these organizations, enabling them to further their missions and ensure they can maintain stable operations. Together, we can continue to uplift our community and create positive change.
