DES MOINES, IOWA (August 15, 2023) — The FFA Carcass Value Swine show was held on Thursday, August 10, at the 2023 Iowa State Fair. Thirty pigs were shown by nineteen FFA exhibitors in the show.

Isaac Striegel of Keota FFA, Keota, was awarded the Grand Champion of Carcass (Live) show and Grand Champion of the Carcass show.

Kelsie Bohrn of Pekin FFA, Packwood, won Reserve Champion of Carcass (Live) show.

Jake Vanderheiden of DeWitt Central FFA, DeWitt, won Reserve Champion of the Carcass show.

Megan Foret of Calamus-Wheatland FFA, Wheatland, was awarded Champion Carcass (Live) Group of 4.

The Iowa State Fair is one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country and the single-largest event in the state. The Fair began over 160 years ago and is now considered one of the best events in the nation, attracting more than one million Fairgoers every year from all over the world.
