ELDRIDGE, IOWA (December 30, 2022) On Thursday, December 29, 2022, at approximately 1:17PM, Officers from the Eldridge Police Department along with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Eldridge Fire Department and MEDIC EMS were dispatched to Kings Material Inc located at 3800 South 1st Street, Eldridge.

It was reported that a worker became stuck in a conveyor belt. Upon the arrival of the first responders, it was determined the person would need to be airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital for immediate medical care. The patient was extracted from the conveyor belt by MEDIC EMS, Eldridge Fire Department, AirCare 3 air-medical staff, and a surgical team from Iowa City.

The worker is being treated for a serious injury but is reported to be in stable condition. The name of the worker will not be released until it can be determined that all family has been notified.

This is an ongoing investigation that will be turned over to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). No further information will be provided at this time.

Victim information will be released at a later date and time, once all family members have been notified.
