DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 7, 2025) — Iowa Donor Network (IDN) proudly honors Medic EMS of Scott County, Bettendorf Fire, and Davenport Fire with the EMS Challenge Coin for their exceptional contributions to organ, eye, and tissue donation. As some of Iowa’s most dedicated EMS providers, Medic EMS, Bettendorf Fire, and Davenport Fire have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to saving lives beyond the call of duty.

IDN created the EMS Challenge Coin to recognize EMS providers who transport patients that go on to become organ, eye, or tissue donors. The coin, inscribed with "Saving Lives Beyond the Call", honors their role in offering hope and healing to recipients and their families.

Medic EMS, Bettendorf Fire, and Davenport Fire have set the standard in Iowa, transporting patients whose donations resulted in 23 organ transplants, the gift of four corneas, and musculoskeletal tissue. Their leadership exemplifies the profound impact EMS professionals have on transforming lives through the gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

This event will be held on Friday, February 7, 600 W 4th St, Davenport, IA (Scott County Boardroom) at 10AM CT.
