CLINTON, IOWA (April 11, 2019) — The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, "Clinton, Iowa's Children's Museum," is having their annual Egg-stravaganza Saturday, April 20, 11AM-1PM. Join the Discovery Center as they celebrate spring with their annual traditions: decorating eggs, holding baby chicks, and petting visiting bunnies.. The baby chicks are sponsored by Schlecht Hatchery in Miles, Iowa.
The Discovery Center is also planning exciting activities for its weekly programs and events: Make your own baby chick to take home on WOW Wednesday. Then, peep in to see and hold the new baby chicks at Funtime Friday. Each of these programs is free with regular museum-admission or membership. Also, this Monday is Wendy’s Restaurant, 5-7PM. And mark your calendars for May activities including Great Give Day on May 9, and a Mother’s Day Event and Discovery Center Rummage Sale, both on May 11.
Wendy’s Night
On Monday, April 15, 5-7PM, dine in, carry out, or drive through Wendy’s Restaurant to help support your local children’s museum. Wendy’s will donate 10% of all sales during that time to the Discovery Center. It’s a great way to help your community while having a nice family-meal.
WOW Wednesday
Wednesday, April 17, 2-5PM, is a WOW Wednesday at the Discovery Center, sponsored by US Bank Foundation. Craft with yarn and make your own adorable pompom-chick to take home and love.
WOW Wednesday is perfect for school-aged kids and their families and is a great activity for a school-break, early-out, and home-schoolers. WOW Wednesday is drop in with no pre-registration required — it is an enrichment program with no extra class-fee.
Miss Jean is also here every WOW Wednesday, with her chess, juggling, and logic-puzzles. She teaches beginning-chess to all, from preschoolers through adult, or she will play a strategic game with an opponent to match their skill-level. Additionally, she loves to juggle and can teach anyone of any age to become a successful juggler. Also, Sweeney has on hand three large cases of logic-puzzles, construction materials, and hands-on brain-teasers to fascinate any age. She can teach anyone; all ages and abilities are welcome. She will also be at the Discovery Center on Sunday, April 28, 2-5PM, so save the date.
Funtime Friday
Friday, April 19, at 10AM, is Funtime Friday, sponsored by Clinton Kiwanis Club and Alliant Energy Foundation.
