Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Scheduled for Thursday, August 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Herman’s Inc. is delighted to announce the grand opening of StorageHub, the first Temperature Controlled Self-Storage facility in Rock Island, Illinois. Located at 2820 Blackhawk Road in Rock Island, the previous Herman’s Inc. building was repurposed and transformed into a temperature controlled self-storage facility with 230 units encompassing over 40,000 square feet of rentable storage space.

With a drive up access point, loading and unloading bay, state of the art security system, and a retail office stocked with packaging supplies, this facility was optimized to meet the varied storage needs of the surrounding community.

“This is an excellent location and an outstanding opportunity for the Herman’s Inc. family to develop a new business that continues to serve the local community. It offers all of the amenities of a state-of-the-art self-storage facility, while retaining a home base in Rock Island for many years to come,” said Scott Stroud, Director of Planning and Operations at StorageHub.

StorageHub was designed to support the various needs for individuals and businesses seeking storage space, with units ranging in size from 5x5 feet to 10x20 feet. The building features energy efficient heating and cooling systems, WiFi access, video surveillance and electronic access security systems, key pad access, and more. In an effort to reduce the building’s energy footprint, the renovation process included the installation of LED light fixtures, new HVAC units, and new insulation throughout the entire building.

“Our biggest challenge was to transform the former Herman’s Inc. building built in 1953 into a modern storage facility. We worked with Russell, American Bank & Trust, the City of Rock Island, and many more local businesses to overcome that challenge and provide a state-of-the-art storage experience for our local customers,” said Stroud.

The new facility opens its doors on Thursday August 24th, with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for 5:00 pm. Individuals and businesses can pre-register for a storage unit by calling StorageHub at 309-788-9568.
