SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (August 28, 2019) — The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Labor Council and State Lodge salute all working men and women in the state of Illinois this Labor Day, particularly the law-enforcement officers, emergency telecommunicators, corrections officers, probation officers, and support-personnel working in the law-enforcement field who will be on-duty to help make the holiday safe and enjoyable for everyone.
“The men and women of law-enforcement are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so the nation's workers can safely enjoy the fruits of their labor,” said FOP Labor Council Executive Director Shawn Roselieb. “Law-enforcement workers help protect the rights of all Americans, including the one we celebrate on Labor Day, the right to fair compensation for an honest day's work.”
“Remember and appreciate the workers this Labor Day who run toward danger rather than away from it,” said FOP State Lodge President Chris Southwood. “These neighbors find no greater satisfaction than to know they have made communities safe for their fellow citizens.”
The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council is a law-enforcement union representing more than 11,600 professionals in more than 514 bargaining-units who work in the criminal-justice system.
