ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 30, 2023) — Friendship Manor has been serving seniors in Rock Island since 1941, and has been operating from their current campus since 1979. Friendship Manor is now moving into their next era of excellence. In January, rounds of construction will begin to add amenities and refresh the campus, that has been serving seniors for forty-three years. Throughout the decades, they have served thousands of Quad City seniors rising to meet the changing needs and desires for retirement living.

“There’s not another senior care or retirement living provider with more longevity or experience in our market,” President and CEO Ted Pappas Jr said. “Now, we are looking toward the future, and are very excited to announce our plans to Re-establish Friendship Manor. The result will be beautiful and modern, all with the expertise and skill that comes from 82 years of service.”

Friendship Manor’s upcoming improvements, include:

  • Relaunching the Independent Living Apartments as the Terraces at Friendship Manor with fully-renovated apartments, hallways, and a new dining room, pub and activity spaces;
  • A new state-of-the-art Therapy and Fitness Center with walking track for residents;
  • Opening of The Chrysalis Suites at Silver Cross — two dedicated end-of-life suites for the comfort and dignity of residents and their families;
  • Expanded and upgraded dining at the 1209 Bistro;
  • Aesthetic, modern updates throughout Assisted Living, including renovations for all assisted-living apartments;
  • Improvements to Silver Cross skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, including and expanded dining room, a spacious new spa room, new hard-surface flooring, and other cosmetic upgrades
  • Infrastructure care, including deck repairs, new water-heaters, replacement windows, and updates to the HVAC system including new fan coils, new chiller with back-up generator power, and more; and
  • Outdoor walking-path with gazebo.

This round of improvements comes with a price tag of $12.5 million dollars for the Manor.
