Davenport, IA - Beréskin Fine Art Gallery and Studio presents the newest works from Jeff Allen and gallery owner Pat Bereskin from July 25 to August 19 with an opening reception to be held on Friday, July 28th from 6 to 9 p.m.  As part of the exhibit artists will host a "Plein Air Paint Out" in Downtown Davenport on Saturday, July 15th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists may register online.

Jeff Allen is founder of the Plein Air Painters of Iowa. The group comes together once a week near picturesque locations in Iowa to paint the great outdoors. Jeff draws his inspiration from the Iowa landscape and the group of friends that surround him. He works in oil paint on fine quality linen with brushes and pallet knife. His work has been described as pastoral with a dream-like ethereal quality. He currently resides in Solon, IA.

Pat Bereskin is an art instructor and owner of Beréskin Fine Art Gallery and Studio and Mrs. B.'s Art. Pat's first oil painting was a cityscape. She remembers that it took a long time to complete, but the process taught her many fundamentals of the art process. Her new "City Lights" series gives unique views of the architecture of favored cities in the US and abroad including New York, Chicago, Paris and the Quad Cities. "Cityscapes were the subject of my first oil paintings back in high school with Don Poston at Bettendorf High School," said Pat. "I wanted to return to my roots and paint all of my favorite cities. It has been a joyfilled challenge."

The show runs from July 25 to August 19 with An opening reception on July 28, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. during Bucktown Center for the Art's Final Friday event. The "Plein Air Paint Out" will be held on July 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will meet at the Beréskin Gallery and need to bring an easel, painting supplies, chair, water and lunch.
