GENESEO, ILLINOIS (August 26, 2019) — The 14th Annual Trains, Planes, and Automobiles event will take place Thursday September 5th through Saturday September 7th in Geneseo, Illinois. This year’s event will feature a train engine on display, WWII Stearman Bi-Planes, a guided golf cart tour of the historic Hennepin Canal, and a car show featuring over 300 classic cars.
The following is a schedule of events for the event. Please watch for street closures and dates throughout the event.
Thursday September 5, 2019
- 11AM-2PM: Stearman Fly-In at Gen-Air Park
- Experience the sights and sounds of WWII Stearman Bi-Planes. Absolutely no pets.
- Gen-Air Park is located Route 6 east of Geneseo.
Friday September 6, 2019
- 9AM-1PM: Cruise the Canal
- Enjoy historic guided tours of the Hennepin Canal! Reservations are required. $20 per person. Includes golf cart (driven by you) and guided tour of the canal. Cart drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Two people per cart. Tours depart from Lock 24 (North of Geneseo on N. Chicago St./Grange Road) at 9AM, 11AM, and 1PM. Tours will travel west to Lock 26 and last approx 90 minutes. RSVP at The Geneseo Chamber of commerce at 309-944-2686. Absolutely no pets.
Saturday September 7, 2019
- 9AM-3PM: The Maple City Cruisers Car Show, Downtown Geneseo, Free Show, Donations Accepted.
- Car Show — Train Display — Airplane Display
- Food vendors available.
- 7-11AM: Car registration open. Dash plaques to first 300 entries.
- 9AM-3PM: Music by 3D Sound.
- 9AM-3PM: Geneseo Model Railroaders Display at IDC building.
- 9AM-3PM: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles art exhibition featuring the paintings of Tony Abboreno at Smith Studio and Gallery.
- 11:45AM: Pedal car parade, 8 years old and younger. Must be accompanied by an adult. Meet in front of The Cellar Restaurant at 11:30 am.
- 12PM: Salute to America, VFW Color Guard, Airplane fly-over.
- 2PM: Trophy Awards.
