(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced on Monday that registration for the Governor’s 2018 Future Ready Iowa Summit will open on Thursday, February 1, 2018.
The summit will bring together leaders from business and industry, education, nonprofits, elected officials, students and others to amplify the public conversation about transforming education and the workforce, with a focus on expanding work-based learning and computer science instruction.
Speakers include:
· Mary Andringa, Vermeer’s board chair;
· Brandon Busteed, Gallup’s executive director of education and workforce development;
· Governors Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas and John Hickenlooper of Colorado;
· Hadi Partovi, Code.org’s CEO; and
· Jeff Weld, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s senior policy advisor for STEM education.
The agenda also features a showcase of work-based learning exhibits, table talks, networking opportunities and breakout sessions.
The all-day summit will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines. It is open to the public. The cost is $50 for adults. There is no cost for students.
