Join in on March 23 — your dog can win the top prize

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 18, 2019) — Is your pup ready for his or her close-up? At PawParazzi at the Putnam Museum and Science Center on March 23, you and your “best friend” can compete for top-dog status as Mister or Miss Canine QC.

The contest is only $20 to enter and free for spectators. All contestants will be eligible to win prizes. The top prize will be a free one-hour photo session with Francescon Portraiture and $100 portrait credits.

“'Superpower Dogs' is a must-see movie for all of us who are dog-lovers,” said Kim Findlay, Putnam President and CEO. “PawParazzi is a fun way to show off our own dogs and their unique style.”

The event will also include a dog-trick stage and the ability for dog-lovers to emblazon their love for their four-legged friends on the Paws of Fame wall.

Canine QC contestants can sign up for a time slot within the 1-4PM timeframe on March 23. Online voting will determine the two winners. Winners will be announced after the voting, which opens on March 26 and closes on April 6. The winners’ photo will be displayed during every screening of "Superpower Dogs" on the Giant Screen.

All PawParazzi contestants will walk the red carpet with their dog and take home a buy-one-get-one-free coupon to watch the Putnam’s newest GIANT screen movie, "Superpower Dogs 3D". Dogs will only be allowed in the Putnam’s grand lobby but cannot be permitted in the museum or theater.

Spectators can purchase their tickets to "Superpower Dogs", playing at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM on March 23 or select a different showtime. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for youth, seniors, military, and college students. Putnam members save $1 per ticket.

"Superpower Dogs" follows six real-life working-dogs from around the world as well as their human partners as they brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species such as rhinos and elephants, and transform the lives of people with special needs.

Advanced registration in PawParazzi is encouraged. Learn more at www.putnam.org/pawparazzi.
