MUSCATINE, IOWA (October 12, 2026) — Crossroads Inc is celebrating a $200,000 gift from the HNI Charitable Foundation to support its new Day Habilitation facility at 2206 Lucas Street in Muscatine. The gift will help Crossroads expand access to services for people with disabilities in a space designed to better meet their needs.

Crossroads provides the only Day Habilitation programs in Muscatine and Cedar counties. The new facility will allow the program to grow from approximately thirty participants to as many as sixty. With greater accessibility and room for individualized activities, the space will support people with a wider range of physical needs while providing opportunities to build daily living skills and connect with others.

“For the people we serve, the right environment can make a tremendous difference in what they are able to do and experience each day,” said Marc Hines, CEO of Crossroads.

“The HNI Charitable Foundation’s generosity is helping us create a space where more people can participate fully. We are grateful for their investment in our participants and their families.”

"The HNI Charitable Foundation is proud to support Crossroads and its mission to serve individuals with disabilities and their families,” shared Lindsay McCullough, HNI Foundation Lead.

“Day habilitation services provide meaningful opportunities for engagement, growth, and independence while offering critical support to caregivers. We are honored to invest in a project that will have a lasting impact on our community."

The approximately $600,000 project responds to a need for additional Day Habilitation services in the community. Crossroads hopes to move into the new space in November. A ribbon-cutting celebration will be coordinated with HNI and other community partners, with a date to be announced.

“The HNI Charitable Foundation has made a substantial commitment to people with disabilities right here in our community,” said Ken Brooks, Development Director at Crossroads.

“Their support brings this project closer to completion and gives others a meaningful opportunity to build on that generosity. We are excited to share what this investment will make possible.”
