DES MOINES, IA (January 23, 2019) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) will reveal the 2019 Iowa's Competitive Dashboard, its signature research report measuring how Iowa competes nationally, on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10AM during a press conference at the Iowa State Capitol – Room 116. IBC Chair and Vermeer Corporation's Chairwoman of the Board Mary Andringa and IBC Vice Chair and Casey's General Stores President and CEO Terry Handley will provide an overview of the report's findings and recommendations during the unveiling.   The IBC's competitive dashboard is a unique dataset that serves as a guide to both policymakers and business leaders in determining policies that will elevate Iowa’s economy. The IBC has released this nonpartisan review of the state’s economic climate annually since 2011.   The dashboard measures Iowa’s progress in five categories: economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and demographics and diversity. Each indicator consists of five metrics that are averaged to determine Iowa’s overall performance in that category — competitive, average, or poor.   The IBC's unveiling of the 2019 Iowa's Competitive Dashboard is open to both the public and the media.   Monday, January 28, 2019   10AM                                IBC unveils 2019 Iowa's Competitive Dashboard                                            Iowa State Capitol – Room 116                                            1007 East Grand Avenue                                            Des Moines, IA   For more information on the Iowa Business Council, please visit www.IowaBusinessCouncil.org.
