AMES, IOWA (January 13, 2025) — The Iowa Grizzlies are thrilled to announce the 2025 Grizzlies Invitational.

Annually, youth wheelchair basketball teams from across the Midwest stop in Coralville to showcase the skill, teamwork, and heart that they have worked all season to develop. The Grizzlies Invitational is a NWBA sanctioned event, composed of Varsity, Junior, and Prep teams.

“The Grizzlies invitational is a wonderful opportunity for youth wheelchair basketball teams from across the country to come together and compete. We can’t wait to host this event for another year!” says Hannah Bowman, Director of the tournament.

Tournament Details:

  • February 15-16, 2025
  • GreenState Family Fieldhouse, Coralville, Iowa
  • Registration available through January to eligible teams
  • Free admission
  • Concessions available

The tournament also includes a raffle drawing for various prizes that benefit the Iowa Grizzlies. The Iowa Grizzlies are Iowa’s youth wheelchair basketball team, focused on providing opportunities for youth with disabilities to learn and excel on the basketball court. The Grizzlies have consistently introduced athletes to the sport, and have sent multiple athletes to play collegiately, and beyond. 2023 Grizzlies Alumni AJ Fitzpatrick was the youngest basketball player to make the Team USA paralympic team and won gold this summer! Multiple current Grizzlies seniors also plan to play wheelchair basketball in college.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to enjoy a unique sporting experience, support a local program, and watch great basketball!
