DES MOINES, IOWA (November 10, 2020) The Iowa State Fair is excited to bring three more online classes to the table this fall and winter as a part of the Fair School series. Three family-friendly, interactive online classes will be held this fall and winter, including a fall harvest centerpiece class in November, a chunky knit throw-blanket class in December, and a kids' cooking class in January. Class sizes are limited, and registrations are $10 for each participant. All registrations will include a secure online link, passcode, and a list of the supplies needed for each class.

November 19 at 4:30PM

Fall Harvest Centerpieces with Boesen the Florist

Using harvest-inspired materials, master designer Steven Kay will teach participants how to create the perfect centerpiece for this fall using just the right colors, shapes and a little bit of imagination!

*Participants will need to purchase all supplies prior to class.

December 6 at 2PM

Chunky Knit Throw with Heartland Handcrafted

The perfect way to warm you up this winter, Heartland Handcrafted will give you step-by-step instructions for hand-knitting your very own, individualized, soft, chunky knit throw-blanket. Don't worry, no knitting experience or needles are required.

*Participants will need to purchase all supplies prior to class.

January 30 at 10AM

Kids in the Kitchen, Deliciously Scientific with Iowa State University Culinary Club, sponsored by the Iowa Egg Council

Join the ISU Culinary Club to learn about the science behind foods, basic knife skills, and proper food safety. You don't want to miss this deliciously scientific class!

The Iowa State Fair is the single largest event in the state of Iowa and one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. Because of safety and health concerns, the 2020 Iowa State Fair has been postponed until August 12-22, 2021.
