MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 3, 2019) — With almost 19 years of service to The Moline Foundation, Joy Boruff, President/CEO, has elected to retire. Her last day in the office will be Friday, December 20, 2019. As the first staff person for the then-48-year-old community foundation, Boruff established the office with accounting, budget, software, grant-making, management, and fundraising procedures. She then hired and directed staff to support a ten person Board of Directors and various task forces and committees. Most recently, Boruff has led the celebration of The Moline Foundation’s 65th Anniversary in 2018, and helped establish the East Moline Community Fund as an affiliate of The Moline Foundation in 2011. Boruff has also served in the philanthropic community as President of the statewide Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations; President of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals; Secretary of the Iowa State Alumni Association Board of Directors; and Secretary of Quad Cities Contributors Council.
Stephen Kruse, Board Chairman, The Moline Foundation, said, “Joy has been the face of The Moline Foundation for almost two decades. Under her leadership, The Moline Foundation has grown tremendously in size and capability to improve the lives of those in our community. Her leadership skills and extensive knowledge of the local communities have been invaluable in making The Moline Foundation such an important and positive force in the seven counties we serve. We wish Joy and her husband, Chet, continued success and happiness in the next chapter of their lives.” Kruse continued, “The Moline Foundation Board of Directors will begin the process shortly of selecting quality candidates to interview for the position of President/CEO. Ideally, we will have someone in place by November 15, 2019.”
