DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 26, 2026) — Join Common Chord for a family-friendly block party to lead off their annual Live At 5 summer concert series.

The Summer Kickoff Block Party, 5-10PM, June 5 in downtown Davenport, will celebrate the start of summer with live music from two rockin’ local bands.

The party will be in the Skybridge Courtyard and along 2nd Street between Main and Brady Streets.

Diplomats of Solid Sound and Funktastic 5 will take the stage at 5PM, immediately followed by a silent disco in the Skybridge Courtyard until 10PM. The disco, presented in partnership with Quad City Arts, will feature DJ Buddha, Shane Brown, and Sean Tripp. The block party also will feature special kids’ activities, including face painting, bubble stations, and yard games.

Parking is available in the Redstone Parking Ramp, 101 N Main St, Davenport. The entrances for the block party are at 2nd and Main Streets and 2nd and Brady Streets. Restrooms will be available in the Redstone Building.

This is a family-friendly event. Common Chord recommends attendees bring their own chairs. No outside beverages are permitted, but outside food is welcome and food trucks will be onsite.

During the block party, Common Chord will accept donations of used band, orchestra, and rock instruments to be refurbished and loaned out for free to schools and students in our community who would not otherwise have access through their “Let’s Band Together” program. Bring your used instruments to the block party to donate and give them a new life! We give a special thanks to our partner and lead supporter, Pierce’s Promise.

Common Chord also gives a special thanks to the series’ media sponsor 97X FM.

Beginning June 5 and continuing through the end of August, Common Chord will host weekly 5 p.m. Friday evening concerts in the Skybridge Courtyard in downtown Davenport. For more information on the series and the band lineup, visit commonchordqc.org/events/.
