Cheer on the Hawkeyes and Cyclones, grab a tasty plate of tailgate barbeque, and help Churches United of the Quad City Area raise funds to feed the hungry at Kick Out Hunger on Saturday, Sept. 9th. Our fun and friend-raising event kicks off 30 minutes before the televised game time. Watch the game and enjoy tail gate party activities at the Ken Anderson Academic All-America Club overlooking Lindberg Stadium at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex on the Augustana College campus. Only 100 tickets at $50 each will be available for sale! Bring extra dollars to bid on winning silent auction gift baskets!

Former All-Big Ten Hawkeye fullback Lew Montgomery will share his inspirational faith journey during half-time. His involvement with underserved youth has earned Montgomery a successful career as a motivational speaker. The non-profit arm of Lucas Gear, LLC, an e-commerce company specializing in sportswear for athletes and business professionals, champions fundraising efforts for research about Sanfilippo Syndrome, a genetic condition that Montgomery’s son, Lucas, was diagnosed with in 2007.

Montgomery is known for his leadership on and off the field. A native of Waterloo, he was a standout athlete at Waterloo East High School where he was a two-time All-State running-back and All-American and was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Football Players' Hall of Fame in 2007.  He lettered all four years at the University of Iowa, was co-captain, and played in the Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Holiday Bowl under Coach Hayden Fry.
