DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 24, 2026) — The Last Picture House is pleased to announce the opening of The Rooftop, one of the only combined outdoor cinemas and lounges in the entire country. Starting on Thursday April 30, The Rooftop is open seven days a week (weather permitting) until mid-fall. The Rooftop is family friendly and offers sweeping views of the Mississippi River and downtown Davenport, and features a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and more.
One of the main attractions of The Rooftop are ticketed film screenings on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, beginning at sundown. Last year, The Last Picture House hosted over thirty sold-out outdoor screenings.
The 2026 ticketed film season kicks off with Back to the Future on the evenings of Thursday, April 30; Friday, May 1; and Saturday, May 2. Doors open at 7PM with the film beginning around 8PM. Other rooftop screenings will be announced soon. Tickets are available to purchase online and in the lobby, while tickets last.
Outside of weekly ticketed screenings and private events, The Rooftop is free to use and will be open during all normal hours of operation. The Rooftop bar will serve guests Thursday through Monday, 3-11PM. When the outdoor bar is closed, guests can continue to bring cocktails, mocktails, and food service out on the roof deck from our lounge to enjoy during regular hours.
