MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 1, 2019) — The Moline Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the latest scholarships that are available online at www.molinefoundation.org. This year's application process features a new, simplified application requiring only one essay-submission for over 38 scholarship awards.

"By having a common scholarship essay question, students are able to apply for more scholarships in a shorter period of time. It is our hope that educators will continue to encourage high-school students graduating in the spring of 2020 to apply online in the next three-and-a-half month," said Joy Boruff, President/CEO of The Moline Foundation.

While most scholarships are for two- or four-year colleges or universities, The Moline Foundation does have scholarships targeted to technical or trade schools. The deadline for application is 11:59PM on Saturday, February 15, 2020.

The simplified application form requires:

  • One transcript;
  • Two references uploaded onto the application;
  • One essay on "Why are you entering your chosen field of study?";
  • List of activities/involvement — honors, extracurricular, work, volunteering, etc;
  • General information; and
  • Financial information, needed only if the applicant wishes to be considered for scholarships that are based partially on need.

The applicant must be a graduating senior from the following schools: Moline High School, Alleman High School, United Township High School, Rock Island High School, or Sherrard High School; or a Black Hawk College student, a resident of Rock Island County and/or live within Moline-Coal Valley School District 40 boundaries.

Applicants should apply online at www.molinefoundation.org under "Apply" at the tope of the home page. For additional information, click "How to Apply for Scholarships" or contact Susan Zelnio at (309736-3800. Available scholarships include:
