Bio:    Russo has been making music along the muddy waters of the Mississippi since she first picked up a guitar refining and defining her music while playing in jam, Celtic, blues and roots rock bands in the Twin Cities until relocating to the Quad Cities, IA in 2005 where she continues to write, create and perform her unique blend of Americana, blues and roots rock around the country. Russo’s musical style is as unpredictable as the river she calls home. One moment she’s laying down a furious rhythm on the guitar punctuated with a wailing vocal the next we’re floating effortlessly carried by intricate finger-picking, her voice as intense and haunting as her lyrics.

Copy:

  • Lojo Russo has been described as a songwriter with "a lot of lyrical power", a guitarist with “powerful playing” and a singer with "one hell of a voice" who performs "with the energy and rocking empowerment of Ani DiFranco, the graceful folksiness of the Indigo Girls”, and “the gritty blues of Susan Tedeschi". (Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Dirty Linen, World Beat Magazine, Carbondale Rocks)
  • With raw energy, she moves from sweet folk to roots rock without missing a beat.
  • “This is a one-woman show that shows you only need one woman”.
