CLEAR LAKE, IOWA (September 29, 2025) — Internationally-acclaimed YouTube artist Mike Massé, known for his powerful “epic acoustic classic rock,” will make his Iowa début at the world-famous Surf Ballroom on Sunday, October 19. The event will feature a free concert and the filming of Massé’s new music video for an acoustic cover of Don McLean’s legendary anthem, “American Pie.”

Massé will be joined on stage by his longtime collaborators and fan favorites, Jeff Hall and Sterling Cottam, for this one-night-only performance. Doors open at 7PM, with the show beginning at 7:30PM.

The Surf Ballroom, forever etched in rock history as the final stage for Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper on “The Day the Music Died,” is the perfect backdrop for Massé’s heartfelt tribute. The video shoot will capture both the performance and the audience, allowing fans to be a visible part of this historic project.

Admission is free, but seating is limited. Tickets are available now at surfballroom.com. By reserving a ticket, attendees grant permission for their likeness to appear in the final video.

About The Surf Ballroom and Museum

The legendary Surf Ballroom and Museum is one of only four music venues in the United States designated as a National Historic Landmark. Best known as the final performance site of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper, the Surf has welcomed generations of musical artists and fans since 1933. Today, it is a vibrant year-round venue that amplifies the legacy of music culture, education and performance — it’s where the music lives. The Surf is operated by the North Iowa Cultural Center and Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and will expand its offerings with the new Music Experience Center (MEC), an immersive attraction, artifact exhibit, and event space, opening September 2025.
