MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 28, 2021) The Moline Foundation announces the appointment of two new members of the Board of Trustees: Scott Lohman and Dr Reginald Lawrence II.

“Both of our newest Board members bring wide-ranging perspectives and expertise to our organization. We are fortunate to have them by our side as we continue to strengthen and serve our community through strategic initiatives and grant-making” said Paul Plagenz, President and CEO of The Moline Foundation.

Scott Lohman is the co-owner of Lohman Companies, a family-owned independent insurance agency based in Moline. Lohman is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table and a member of the Quad City Estate Planning Council. He was president for the Rock Island County Independent Agents and the Quad City Society of Financial Service Professionals. He also is a past board member of Rock Island County Life Underwriters. He graduated from St Ambrose University in Davenport with a degree in business administration and earned his Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the American College.

A past board member of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, Lohman is a past chairman of the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce and served 15 years as a Moline Police and Fire Commission. He is a Make-a-Wish Foundation grantor, a member of the State of Illinois Military Economic Development Committee, a chairman of the Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance, past Chair of the Niabi Zoological Society, and Moline-Coal Valley School Districts Project Graduation.

Dr Reginald Lawrence II has served a total of 29 years in public education. He joined the Rock Island-Milan School District as Superintendent in July of 2019. Prior to RIMSD #41, Dr Lawrence, served as Regional Superintendent with the Milwaukee (WI) Public Schools. He held positions as a teacher, an assistant principal, and principal in Milwaukee Public Schools. He was also an instructor for the Professional Urban Teaching Linking Seminar at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a former member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard serving more than 18 years with distinction and honor.

Dr Lawrence earned his Doctor of Education from the National Louis University in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 2016. He holds an Administrative Leadership Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.

Moline Foundation Board Chair Larry Meeske stated, “Both Scott and Reggie have excelled in their professions and are well-qualified. Additionally, they both have a genuine affinity for improving our community and the Board and staff are excited they have joined The Moline Foundation.”
