MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 7, 2020) — The Covid-19 pandemic is having a significant impact on the ability of non-profits to not only serve their constituents, but to effectively operate. Based on this unprecedented situation, The Moline Foundation has modified our Spring 2020 Grant submission criteria. Priority will be given to the essential operational costs of non-profit applicants serving the basic needs of residents including:

  • Food and basic supplies;
  • Housing and shelter;
  • Children and families of essential workers; and
  • Protecting the most vulnerable, including the elderly.

Submissions for programmatic and capital support will still be considered, but The Moline Foundation kindly requests that large capital building campaigns postpone submitting a request for funding until a future grant cycle.

As previously requested in past granting cycles, The Moline Foundation doesn’t require filling out an application form. You may submit a succinct (less than 2 page) narrative telling about your funding need.

The due date remains Friday, April 17, 2020 and includes a simplified submission process and the following changes:

  • Due to shelter in-place requirements, grant packets will not be accepted in-person.
  • Applications will be accepted electronically through info@molinefoundation.org.
  • Please provide a PDF file of the grant submission packet.
  • Applications will still be accepted via US Mail but must be postmarked by the due date of Friday, April 17, 2020.
  • Please include in your grant submission packet:
  • No more than a two-page letter explaining your need and amount requested.
  • A basic budget explanation corresponding to the requested amount.
  • A 501-c-3 IRS Determination letter if you have not previously submitted a grant request to the Moline Foundation.
  • Your organization’s contact information including name, address, email of the primary person responsible for grant submission. Also include the names and contact information of your Board of Directors & Officers.

Requirements remaining the same as previous grant cycles for The Moline Foundation include:

  • Grants are made to non-profit agencies located in The Moline Foundation service area which includes the Quad Cities region of Scott County, Iowa, and Rock Island, Mercer, Henry, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough Counties, Illinois; and
  • Grants are not generally available for those agencies and institutions that are funded primarily through tax support.
