The staff at the Muscatine Art Center is busy preparing for upcoming events this holiday season! Our annual event, Sunday with Santa, is set for December 3rd. The Gingerbread House workshop will be held Saturday, December 9th, and returning this year, the Kids Pajama Party, will take place Thursday, December 14th.

Sunday with Santa is a free event sponsored by CBI Bank & Trust, Community Bank and Trust, and First National Bank. The December 3rd event begins at 1:30 p.m. with pictures with Santa until 3:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras. There will be a craft activity and refreshments will be provided. Attendees can also enjoy our current exhibitions, Norman Rockwell: Home for the Holidays, The Peter Norton Family Christmas Project, and the Heartfelt & Handmade Ornament Competition. Ornaments are available for purchase through December 14th!

The popular Gingerbread House workshop will be held in the studio again this year, and is open to all families. Houses are just $10 each, and all supplies will be provided. The December 9th workshop led by Julie Lear, will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Please register by calling 563-263-8282 by December 5th.

It’s pajama party time! A kids’ favorite returns this year. Families will experience a fun-filled evening at the Art Center in their pajamas, where they can join us for story time, two crafts, and a snack. This event will take place December 14th, from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. The fee is $5 per child with registrations taken through December 12th.
