Description: An exploration of methods and mediums used to create art and the relationship of art and civilization. Major artists are covered as well as historical, religious, intellectual relevance. 101: CLASS: Tapestry Weaving Techniques

Description: Students will learn several woven tapestry techniques including stripes, angles, interlocking, slit, hatching, checkerboard, curve, and dovetail. Each student will begin a small tapestry using a small, basic frame loom provided by the instructor. Includes a tour of the exhibition Mother and Child: Henry Moore's West Dean Tapestries. Students may purchase frames from the instructor at the end of the class. Description: In this eight-week class students will gain fundamental jewelry making skills including how to set semi-precious stones in copper, brass and sterling silver. The class will include material selection, proper equipment use for safety, demonstrations of techniques, work time and an opportunity to evaluate what was created. Description: This five-week class features introduces free flowing walnut oil. This medium gives the artist greater freedom and control over their color without the addition of solvents. 106: WORKSHOP: Improving Your Digital Photographs

Description: This half-day workshop instructs students on composition, angles, lighting, cropping and color variations. After receiving instruction

107: WORKSHOP: Figure Drawing Instruction

Description: In this half-day workshop students will draw from two models using charcoal and conté crayon. They will learn approaches to drawing the human figure and discuss successful figure drawings by famous artists.
