LeClaire, IA – Organizations in the Quad Cities looking for an alternative to trivia night fundraisers now have a new option--Rock n’ Roll Bingo! As their slogan says, “This isn’t your grandma’s bingo!” Rock n’ Roll Bingo fundraisers offer a fun night for groups of all ages. How it works: Instead of boring old numbers being called out in a normal game of bingo, they’ve replaced them with 20-30 seconds of the most toe-tappin’, booty wigglin’, chair dancin' sing-along songs from the past and present!
Owners Adam & Amy Warren of LeClaire started the venture about three years ago and while it was slow to take off at first, business has been booming for the last year and a half.
“We were booked every Friday and Saturday night in January, February and March. We’ve slowed down a bit for the summer but we’ve been getting a lot of calls and messages again from people wanting dates this fall and winter. I think this area is a bit saturated with trivia nights. At a Rock n’ Roll Bingo we get loud, everyone is singing, dancing, you’ll see people playing air guitar. There are little side games we’ll play and give out prizes for. It’s something so different than anything else we’ve had in this area.”
“We already own a DJ Company—Chances Are Entertainment, so when this opportunity presented itself, we were really excited. My husband, Adam (otherwise known as “Rockstar”) has so much energy and brings so much to these fundraising nights. No Rock n’ Roll Bingo would be the same without him. He’s a great emcee. We’ve hosted bingo nights all over the Quad Cities and surrounding area. From Davenport, IA to Galva, IL. If you have an event, we’d love to help you host it!”
The pair charge one flat fee for their service so that everything raised at the fundraising event goes to the organization putting it all together. Groups are able to choose any music genre they want to have and bingo cards are specially made for that night. While Amy is typically the one to work with the organizations on their bingo fundraiser, giving tips and money-raising ideas, Adam gets very hands-on during the event. “I’ll go around to the silent auctions and look at the bid sheets and say whatever I need to say to get people to up their bids, showing them where to find the bake sale table, reminding them to buy raffle tickets, I even had to do a live auction one night. I don’t care. I’m there to help take some of the load off of the organizers during their event. I tell everyone, Amy is the brains and I’m the mouth.”
Currently Rock n’ Roll Bingo of the Quad Cities has been promoting all of their upcoming events on their Facebook page, however with their increase in business they are finding a need to expand.
“We have a website in the works that we are hoping to have up and running sometime in July. It’s so crazy how pretty much all of our business has been word of mouth. We love what we do and I think it shows in the energy we bring to these bingo fundraisers. I also love helping the groups raise the most money they can. We’ve seen what works and what doesn’t and want our groups to make as much money as they can. All of our money raising tips will be put on the website.”
