DES MOINES, IOWA (September 23, 2021) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small-business advocacy organization, announced today a multi-state paid-advertising campaign, including radio, print, and digital ads in targeted states and districts, including Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, encouraging Representative Cindy Axne (IA-03) to vote against devastating tax-hikes on small businesses.

These new ads are part of a targeted effort that will highlight why tax increases would be harmful to small businesses while holding members of Congress accountable for their support of massive government spending, tax hikes, and costly mandates.

Our small-business economy is very fragile. Unfortunately, politicians in Washington DC are proposing trillions in new government spending, and they want to pay for it with crippling new taxes on small-businesses and Iowa family farms,” said Matt Everson, NFIB State Director in Iowa. “Iowa small-business owners are urging Congresswoman Cindy Axne to stand up for Main Street Iowa and vote NO on these outrageous tax proposals.”

Iowa’s small businesses and family farms have helped define our past … and hopefully our future.

But with Washington politicians proposing trillions in new government spending, that future could be in jeopardy.

That’s because many in Congress want to pay for these massive spending programs with crippling new taxes on Iowa small businesses and family farms …

… even as they’re struggling to emerge from the COVID-19 shut-downs.

This includes higher tax rates and the elimination of critical tax provisions Iowa small businesses and farmers now desperately need to reopen and rebuild.

This threat is real and Iowa Congresswoman Cindy Axne could well be the deciding vote in Congress on these catastrophic taxes.

Call Cindy Axne today at 515-400-8180. Tell her to vote NO on ANY new taxes on Iowa’s small businesses and family farms.

For more than 75 years, NFIB has been advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington DC and in all fifty state capitals. NFIB is non-profit, non-partisan, and member-driven. Since our founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses, and remains so today.
