COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The NJCAA – governing body of two-year college athletics – announced today official site selections for 15 national championships, including the return of the NJCAA Football Championship Game after a nearly 30-year hiatus. In total, the 23 selected sites span 12 states from across the nation. Texas was the most popular destination with six events landing in the Lone Star State, including three events awarded to NJCAA member institution Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.
All selections were made by NJCAA championship events committee after an exhaustive bid review process that began last fall. The committee’s final site selections were approved by the association’s board of directors at its annual legislative meeting recently held in Reno, Nevada.
The NJCAA will next turn its attention to soliciting bids from potential hosts for its next round of championships up for contract. Updated information on those events will be forthcoming on the NJCAA website at bids.njcaa.org.
