DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 2, 2019) — Join us for a walking tour of historic Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport on May 25, 1PM. Established in 1856, this cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and on the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.

As we tour the grounds, staff will share the histories of prominent agriculture and manufacturing people of Scott County buried at Oakdale as well as identifying notable architecture and scenery found on the cemetery grounds. Registration is required.

Meet at Oakdale Memorial Gardens located at 2501 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, IA. Wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Some of the route on the planned tour involves hills and difficult terrain.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
