DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 14, 2026) – OneTable QC, in partnership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Quad Cities, Wastyn and Associates, and Humility Homes and Services, will host Advocacy Without Fear: A Practical Workshop for QC Nonprofits on Tuesday, February 3, 8:30AM-12PM, at the Butterworth Education Center in Moline.

This interactive training is designed for executive directors, non-profit leaders, and board members who want practical guidance on how to engage in advocacy confidently, ethically, and effectively without jeopardizing funding or mission focus.

The workshop will be led by Bethany Snyder MPP, non-profit advocacy strategist and founder of Snyder Strategies LLC. Snyder will walk participants through the fundamentals of nonprofit advocacy, dispel common myths, and demonstrate how advocacy strengthens fundraising and donor relationships rather than competing with them.

A featured highlight of the morning is “Inside the Process,” an Oprah-style panel conversation offering a candid look at how advocacy works behind the scenes. Panelists include:

  • Henry J Marquard, Executive Director, Quad Cities Interfaith
  • Joscelyn Rowe, Deputy District Director, US Representative Eric Sorensen (IL-17)

The panel will give nonprofit leaders direct insight into how policymakers and advocates listen, learn, and respond, as well as how non-profit voices can be most effective in those conversations.

Workshop topics include:

  • Why non-profits can (and should) engage in policy advocacy;
  • How to talk with donors, board members, and grant funders about advocacy;
  • Simple, realistic advocacy steps for small or overstretched organizations; and
  • Using stories and lived experience to move both hearts and policy. Participants will leave with concrete tools, worksheets, and language they can put to use immediately.
