Join us every Thursday in April beginning April 4 at 5:30PM at Main (321 Main St.) for Paleography Thursdays! Learn basic techniques to improve your paleography, or the study of old handwriting. With this skill, you will be able to read genealogy texts with ease.
April 11 at 5:30PM: Early American Handwriting — Decode early-American handwriting by learning the skills to read and interpret letter-forms to assist you with your historical and genealogical research.
April 18 at 5:30PM: Germanic Handwriting — Build your skills by studying documents and examine texts featuring Germanic handwriting.
April 25 at 5:30PM: Writings in Foreign Languages — Do you have a document in a foreign language you want to translate or curious about languages? Learn how to use paleography techniques to read foreign languages materials.
