Reservations are limited so pre-registration is required for two remaining programs

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 18, 2019) — Putnam Explorers and Explorers Jr programs engage kids in interactive learning-experiences based around some of their favorite things — dinosaurs and Star Wars.

Created for students in pre-K through Grade 5, the two-hour long Saturday programs are fun activities packed with learning opportunities. The programs fill up quickly, so pre-registration is required.

“Our Explorer series is an exciting way for kids to learn on a Saturday while having a great time,” said Octavia Houtekier-Boyd, vice president of education at the Putnam. “We utilize the many interactive learning-environments here at the Putnam and center our focus on topics that kids love, so it doesn’t even feel like learning for kids.”

On April 6, 9-11AM, the Explorer program will be “Rock, Paper, Fossils?” where kids will explore the science behind paleontology through a variety of activities focused on dinosaurs.

On May 4, 9-11AM, kids can join “May the 4th Be With You” — a workshop focused on the physics of Star Wars. Young explorers will make discoveries about the gravitational force of the Death Star and how speed racers fly.

Each program is $14 per child and $11 per member child. Pre-registration is required because of the limited number of reservations.
