Free general admission passes are available online for September 21 only

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 17, 2019) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center will open its doors free of charge to all Museum Day ticketholders on Saturday, September 21, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 15th annual Museum Day, a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the free admission policy at the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based museums.

Museum Day represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity and inclusion. More than 450,000 tickets were downloaded for last year’s event, and Museum Day 2019 is expected to attract more museumgoers than ever before.

“We are proud to participate in Museum Day,” said Putnam President/CEO Rachael Mullins Steiner. “It allows anyone in the community to come see what’s new at the Putnam or to experience the Putnam for the first time. We’re grateful for our partnership with Smithsonian magazine for making this possible.”

Museum Day tickets are available for download at Putnam.org/MuseumDayLive and provide general admission for the ticket holder and one guest on September 21. Visitors must register in advance and present tickets at the Putnam ticket counter.
