BETTENDORF, IOWA (August 8, 2023) — The Quad Cities Chamber will host its Annual Meeting, Thursday, August 10, 11:45AM-1PM, at Rhythm City Casino Resort (7077 Elmore Ave, Davenport). The event will be presented by IMEG Corp.

The Chamber leadership will share its recent achievements in building a thriving QC community and hear about our vision of future growth.

Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Regional Champion of Change will be announced.

Louis L Reed, author of Disruptive Thinking: The Business Imperative for Inclusion and Innovation, will be the keynote speaker. Reed will make the case for businesses to focus on implementing diversity and inclusion practices in the workplace, for the benefit of all stakeholders. Reed will highlight the changing demographics of the workforce and why it's important for businesses to reflect the diversity of our communities, as well as the potential negative impact of homogeneous workforces, including a lack of innovation and reduced competitiveness. Learn the advantages companies can reap from adopting a hiring process that supports bringing on diverse employees, including the LGBTQ+ community, people with criminal records, mothers, immigrants, and more. Reed will offer approaches in overcoming these challenges so that businesses can begin increasing engagement, creativity, innovation and customer satisfaction.
