Quad Cities – The New Year means new items for the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (QCCVB).  The QCCVB announced today the launch of their new 2018 Activity Guide in both print and online versions, and a new website at www.qcinsider.com that showcases a behind-the-scenes look at the Quad Cities along with information on the QCCVB and its work in the tourism industry.  This new website is in addition to the already popular www.visitquadcities.com that in used by nearly 700,000 visitors annually.

On www.qcinsider.com, learn about lion training at Niabi Zoo, see the inner machinery of the Channel Cat Water Taxi, or follow along on a tour of the Isabel Bloom Production Studio for example through a new series of videos and blog posts.  The QC Insider website also features an interactive map allowing users to view all the content by location.  Explore any of the downtown hotspots to see all the behind the scenes secrets of popular attractions and restaurants.

The QC Insider team is made up of local bloggers, video producers, and QCCVB staff—all long-time residents of the region who share their knowledge of the area with visitors and Quad Citizens alike.  They have interests in arts, culture, sporting events, family friendly activities, and more.  Follow along as they explore local fun facts and stories that people may not already know about the Quad Cities.

The www.qcinsider.com site also includes a fascinating look at the Quad Cities tourism and hospitality industry, one of the region’s largest employers with 8,130 jobs and $857 million regional economic impact annually.  Learn about how more than 6,000 local hotel rooms help generate $14.5 million in tax revenue to help pay for schools, police, fire, and other local municipal services.  Meet visitors from all over the world and see why they love coming to the Quad Cities to spend their money at local attractions, restaurants, and events.

“This new website complements the 2018 Activity Guide and www.visitquadcities.com as a great resource for people to learn more about the Quad Cities,” says Charlotte Doehler-Morrison, QCCVB vice-president of Marketing & Communications.  “The Activity Guide showcases what to see and do in the Quad Cities throughout the year.  The guides are used by visitors, residents, group tour planners, meeting/convention planners, sports tournament planners, business recruiters, and the media as a resource for information on the Quad Cities.”

The online version of the activity guide is also available at www.visitquadcities.com and is mobile accessible.   Links are embedded in the online version so users can simply click on attractions, festivals, and businesses and be linked directly to their individual websites.  Additionally, the sleek technology of the online version makes it possible to flip through the pages just as you would with a magazine.  You can also download the activity guide icon to your desktop so it is accessible at any time.

The new guide is available online at www.visitquadcities.com.  Or a hard-copy guide is available by request through the website, by phone at 309-277-0937 or 800-747-7800, or in person at one of the QCCVB visitor centers in the Quad Cities:

  • Davenport Visitor Center, (inside the RiverCenter South) 2nd & Perry St., Davenport, IA
