On exhibit from August 25 through October 13, 2017, will be artworks by 23 regional artists in an exhibition titled “Out and About.” For the first time, Quad City Arts and MidCoast Fine Arts are collaborating to produce a bi-state, regional art competition and exhibition.

All artists residing within a 250-mile radius of the Quad Cities were invited to submit artwork of any medium that relates to “Out and About,” for a juried, group exhibition divided between Quad City Arts’ Rock Island Gallery and the Casement Gallery at Bucktown Center for the Arts. The opening reception will be August 25th from 6-9 pm, coinciding with “Final Friday” at Bucktown Center for the Arts and the “Alternating Currents Festival” in downtown Davenport. Both organizations encourage participants to walk or bicycle over the Arsenal Bridge to attend all three events and make the evening a creative immersion in the outdoors.

Quad City Arts is a nonprofit local arts agency dedicated to enriching the quality of life in the Quad City region through the arts.  Support for art exhibitions is provided by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Quad City Arts Gallery is located at 1715 Second Avenue in the Arts and Entertainment District of Rock Island.  Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.–5 p.m. For more information, contact Dawn Wohlford-Metallo 309-793-1213 X108, or by email at dwmetallo@quadcityarts.com.
