ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (September 22, 2023) — Tickets are now available online for concerts from featured artists in residence with the Quad City Arts’ Visiting Artist Series.

Six of the artists in residence for the 2023-2024 season will give public performances as part of the newly branded “Quad City Arts Presents” concert series. The artists performing in concert are as follows:

  • ADAAWE will perform a global fusion of strong rhythms and thrilling harmonies Saturday, October 7, at Centennial Hall on the Augustana campus, Rock Island.
  • Native Pride Productions will perform their energetic traditional dance Saturday, December 9, at Galvin Fine Arts Center, St Ambrose University, Davenport.
  • Amirah Sackett and DJ MR MiC will perform hip-hop choreography Saturday, February 10, at the Putnam Museum and Science Center, Davenport.
  • Grosse Isle will perform traditional Irish compositions Saturday, March 23, at Skylark Studios, Rock Island.
  • Wanees Zarour and his East Loop jazz project will perform non-traditional jazz Saturday, April 20, at The Speakeasy, Circa ’21, Rock Island.
  • Kuniko Yamamoto will present a green tea ceremony Saturday, May 4, at Quad City Arts, Rock Island.

Additionally, special guests The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra will be the featured performers at this year’s Festival of Trees Grand Premiere Party 7PM, Friday, November 17, at RiverCenter, Davenport. The series has recently announced the roster and scheduling of educational activities for its fiftiethth anniversary season. The residencies begin October 2 with a weeklong visit from West African fusion band ADAAWE. The full 2023-2024 roster includes fourteen professional performing artists providing educational activities in music, dance, theatre, and visual-arts creation.

Residencies featuring artists from across the US and around the world are scheduled through May 2024 and will focus on presenting educational performing arts-based engagements in and around the Quad Cities.Schools and community sites can schedule visits from these artists for demonstrations, workshops, informal performances, and more. Since 1974, the Visiting Artist Series has engaged Quad City residents of all ages in quality arts experiences with professional performing artists. Artists of various disciplines present demonstrations, workshops, and master classes at pre-K sites, elementary, intermediate, and high schools as well as college campuses and community organizations.
